Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 17, 2026

This page describes YAR's current data practices as accurately as we can. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet — treat it as accurate but provisional until the team confirms it's final.

Who we are

YAR is an education platform built by BAMAA to help students in Afghanistan continue learning — through regular school subjects and, for students who want it, Kankor university-entrance exam preparation.

Information we collect

To create your account we collect your name, email, and password. During onboarding we ask for your city, province, current grade, how you're currently studying, and what you'd like to focus on — date of birth and phone number are optional. As you use YAR, we record your answers, scores, and progress in lessons, quizzes, practice sessions, and exams so we can track your progress and show you what to study next.

Photos you upload

If you upload a photo of your handwritten work to check it for mistakes, that photo is sent to YAR's own automated system for analysis — it is not sent to an outside company.

What we don't do

We don't run advertising or analytics trackers on this site, and we don't sell your information to anyone, for any reason.

Who has access to your information

Our database, authentication, and file storage are hosted by Supabase. If you register for the beta-testing program, we use your name, phone number, and email to send you a confirmation email through Resend, a transactional email service — for that purpose only. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

Students and minors

YAR is built for school-age students, some of whom are minors. We collect only what's needed to run the learning experience, and we protect information from all users the same way regardless of age.

Your choices

You can view and update your onboarding information at any time from Settings on your Profile page. You can also deactivate your account from there — this signs you out and keeps your data as-is, so you can sign back in later and continue where you left off. It does not permanently delete your information; we are still finalizing what a permanent-deletion option looks like.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and learning activity for as long as your account is active, so your history and progress stay available to you. If you deactivate your account, we keep your data in case you return.

Security

We rely on our infrastructure providers' security practices, including encryption in transit, to protect your data. No system can guarantee complete security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as YAR grows. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
